MARKET

Market Description: Alcohol sales have increased in Canada, despite restrictions and closures related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Beer remained the alcoholic drink of choice for Canadians, but it continued to lose market share to spirits, ciders and coolers. Overall, sales of alcoholic beverages for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2021 were $25.5 billion, up 4.2% from the prior year. This is the strongest sales increase in more than a decade.
Spirits are growing in popularity: Canadians purchased the equivalent of 2.6 glasses of spirits per week in 2020-21. In terms of volume, 191.7 million liters of spirits were sold, up 5.7%. Spirits sales increased 8.0% year over year to $6.5 billion in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2021. This is the largest increase in registered spirits sales since 1983.
Nationally, whiskey (29.6%), vodka (24.6%) and rum (14.9%) were the top-selling spirits in Canada in 2020-21, and accounted for more than two-thirds (69.0%) of total spirits sales.
Clientele: In Quebec, consumers are very attached and even more and more to products from the Province, especially quality ones like Maison Sivo.

Innovation: Rare whiskey distillery in Quebec, peated whiskey and fruit liqueur of this quality. In the production of authentic fruit whiskeys and liqueurs, innovation is not a critical success factor. Rather, it is the recipes and processes focused on quality and authenticity that guarantee success.
Description of the competition
Competition Fruit liqueur:
There are no other fruit liqueur producers offering a comparable series. The opportunity in the Canadian market is untapped; the company is limited in terms of its production capacity.
Whiskey Competition:
Global competition is important. The Maison Sivo market remains Quebec and the specialty houses outside Quebec, particularly in Europe. However, the excellent image of Quebec in the world can allow strong development.
Quebec competition is very limited because of the need for aging for at least 3 years in oak barrels.
Market Opportunities: Automating Bottling. Better bottling technology can greatly increase productivity.
Financial situation and forecasts: Excellent
Production: 27,000 of different bottles in the last 12 months.
